Drumschool Belfast also has every issue of RHYTHM MAGAZINE since December 2003, including ALL the PLAYALONG CDs. That means 100’s of real song play-alongs (including charts) and 100’s more generic backing tracks covering styles ranging from easy pop to Jazz, Latin, Fusion and tricky time signatures, etc. This invaluable and unique tuition resource is, we believe, one of the best in Ireland for anyone wanting to learn the widest range of genres and styles that the modern drummer needs to play.

For graded exams, tuition covers the general structure of the CCEA accredited Rockschool syllabus. Essentially structured as 4 levels from Foundation through to Professional.
Drumschool Belfast has seen many students fulfill their ambitions by successfully graduating through each level to becoming Professional players.
Alan can teach the classical percussion ABRSM syllabus mainly in schools as well as Rockschool Grades.
For intermediate and advanced specialist studies sessions can be arranged covering the specific styles and genres e.g. Blues, Funk, Jazz, Latin, World
Incorporates the elements of Foundation Grades up to Grade 2 plus much, much more! You will understand basic music theory and how to apply this to your playing at the drumset.
Builds on Foundation and incorporates most of the elements of Grade 3 with an emphasis on developing great rock rhythms and various other styles.
Builds on the Player and incorporates completion of Grades 3-5 with an emphasis on drum score interpretation, styles studies, greater independence and creativity.
Builds on the Performer course and incorporates completion of Grades 6-8 with an emphasis on the range of styles that you will encounter in your playing career!
